Udupi, Nov 19: “Earlier, a huge Dharma Sansad was held in city in 1985. During that year there was controversial Babri Masjid lock out issue. Vishwa Hindu Parishad strongly demanded the unlocking of gates of Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid which had been locked for decades. The saints and seers had then decided to break the lock. Veer Bahadur Singh of Congress was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and late Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister at this time. After so much of pressure from the public, the Rajiv Gandhi had decided to unlock the gates before the date of court order,” said Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji at district auto-federation drivers, owners and taxi men association’s convention at Rajangana Udupi here on Saturday, November 18.
After inaugurating the convention, Swamiji said, “Let this Dharma Sansad be more gloriously than earlier one. I am fortunate to have witnessed such historical happenings during my Panchama Paryaya period,”
“The auto drivers should be ready to take up the initiative to promote Dharma Sansad. Let the dharma dhvaja flag fly everywhere. To uphold Hindu religion, all auto drivers should tie bhagadvaja on auto rickshaw,” he said.
RSS leader, divisional organizing secretary, Gopal G said, “God will be pleased with devotion and not with any caste or religion. Hindu Swamijis have important role to play in social reforms. This Sansad is being organized for the good of Hindu society. We find the practices of untouchability and caste system. The Hindu dharma should stand to be a ‘Yuga Purusha’,”
“Everyone should get water, cemetery, and basis amenities without any discrimination of caste and religion. Some temples restrict women’s entry in India. For breaking such notions, women’s group must take initiative of ‘Veda Ghosha’ (recital of shlokhas) at the Dharma Sansad. Cow slaughter is a bane for the nation. Each and everyone should nurture and take care of cows and not its assassins. Let people play significant role in increasing the breeds of cow,” he added.
“No one should eat beef and kill cows. Beef is not good for health, society and welfare of the nation. This Sansad needs to convince people out there about this. Cow slaughter prohibition bill should be implemented completely in the nation and throughout the nation,” he demanded.
Conversion
“Conversion should be stopped. If it happens, the converted Hindu youths will become anti-national. Converted Christian youths will develop passion for foreign countries. The Sansad is being organized to protect and enhance the rich cultural heritage of India,” said Gopal.
“Maths or religious places are not the property of government. The power of its governance should be in the hands of respective pontiffs. The Dharma Sansad has the power of strengthening emotions.” he added.
“More than 2000 saints, math heads from across the nation and also RSS leader Dr Mohan Bhagavat and various prominent leaders of VHP will be taking part in three-day summit,” Gopal said.
Vilas Nayak President, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Dinesh Mendon, Saharan Pumpwell, regional convener, Raghupati Bhat, president, district Taxi and Maxicab association, Sunil K R, Mangaluru region convener and Santhosh Rao were present.
The convention began with invocation by Shyamala Kundar.
