Udupi, Nov 12: Belapu village in the district, which is known all around for implementation of various innovative schemes successfully and therefore is always in the news, has now got another attractive project in its lap. 'Chinnara Angala' Anganwadi centre that has been constructed in association with Adani Foundation has beautifully come up, and is sure to become another spot of pride for the village.
The people now-a-days, have been giving added importance to giving good education to their children. They normally admit their young children into KG classes run by private institutions. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is lack of basic facilities at Anganwadi centres run by the government including lack of proper building. To tackle this situation, the 'Chinnara Angala' that has been designed in a unique and artistic way, has been built with the support of Adani Foundation without government support. This facility is ready for inaugural on 'Children's Day', November 14.
The building of 'Chinnara Angala' is so attractive that small children will find it difficult to resist the urge to attend it everyday. All basic facilities have been provided and a flower garden is coming up. Belapu gram panchayat president, Dr Deviprasad Shetty, said that he and other like-minded persons from the village had yearned to have a beautiful Anganwadi centre for the children of the village that would be a model for others, and their dream has come true now.
The model development plan of Belapu village has already been added as a lesson in the text book published by Karnataka government. Total sanitation, beautiful 'Suvarna Soudha', ultra modern science research centre, environmental protection, small industries park, attractive Hindu graveyard, purified water project 'Shuddha Ganga', residential extension, e-governance, digital village and several other schemes have been implemented in this village as a result of which Belapu has come to be respected in state, national and international levels.
