Mangaluru, Nov 11: Fr Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Episcopal advisor of Karnataka Charismatic Service team, inaugurated a 3-day leaders’ training programme at St Anthony’s Jeppu.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in his address said that the leadership is a call from Jesus Christ. “Jesus has called chosen people to follow him and to bear witness to Him. It is a responsibility but also a privilege,” he said. He called on the participants to bear witness to Jesus through an exemplary life.
Fr Jose Vettiankal, director of ‘Logos’ Bengaluru, Fr George Karamayil, director of Fatima Retreat Centre Patna, and Fr Franklin D’Souza, director of Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, Shimoga diocese were the resource persons. Fr Onil D’Souza, director of Saint Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu, Br Michael Noronha, chairman of Karnataka Regionsal Service Team (KRST), and Br Arun Lobo, chariman of Mangalore Service Team (MST) were present on the occasion. Three hundred delegates from fourteen dioceses of Karnataka participated in the training programme.
Fr Melwyn D’Souza, director MST, welcomed the gathering. Br Simon Rodrigues, vice-chairman of KRST, delivered the vote of thanks.
