Bengaluru, Nov 9 (IANS): Playtonia, Indias leading e-sports start-up, organised the grand finale of Conquerors Insignia, a landmark event that drew crowds and was the culmination of numerous offline and online tournaments across eight cities and four months of competition.
The cities are Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Cuttack and Hyderabad.
Some of the best professional gaming teams and gamers from India and abroad including Sri Lanka and Thailand participated.
They competed head on in front of more than 5,000 spectators for a prize pool of Rs 20 lakh at Phoenix Market here on November 5.
The winner of CSGO was Eternal eSports from Mumbai, DotA2 was won by Aggressive 5 and FIFA'7 was bagged by Sudin Dinesh from Eternal eSports, with Shanawaz Ahmed as Angemon securing the first position in Cosplay event.
Anshuman Pandey, co-Founder of Playtonia, said: "We are witnessing the RISE of eSports in India. Online gaming industry is growing with the increase of the average internet speed and affordable PC hardware in the market.

The Olympic Council of Asia included e-sports in the Asian Indoor Games in 2007 and the process has started to get e-sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
