Mangaluru: 'Yakshagana field has immensely contributed to society' - Patla

Mangaluru, Nov 8: "Due to the efforts of Yakshagana artistes, supporters of this art and patrons of Yakshagana, this field has been able to make immense contributions towards creating a society that is rich in cultural heritage," felt well-known Bhagawath, 'Yakshadhruva' Patla Sathish Shetty.

He was speaking after inaugurating 'Shree Dharmashasta Yaksha Vrinda', a sister concern of Shree Dharmashasta Mandira Trust, at Jyotinagar Kulshekar here on Tuesday November 7.

Patla also praised Yaksha Guru, Dr Dinakar S Pachchanadi, who directed a mythologial episode, 'Shree Ekadashi Mahatme' by bringing together children and their parents during training, and office bearers of Shree Dharmashasta Mandir Trust for setting up Yaksha Vrinda.

Advocate, Ram Prasad, who presided over the function, said that it was their dream to get Yaksha Vrinda inaugurated by Patla Sathish Shetty, who has been working to wipe tears from the eyes of artistes in distress through his trust. He expressed happiness at the fact that his long time dream has been realized.

Local corporator, Bhaskar K, president of Jalligudde Amba Bhavani Bhajana Mandir, Devoji Rao, Ashok of Rajalaxmi Jewellers, Avinash Bangera of Subrahmanya Bhajana Mandir Kaikamba, vice president of Bar Council, Pushpalata U K, president of auditorium construction committee, Krishnappa Tailor, preisdent of Seva Samithi, Koosappa Paldane, convener of Yaksha Vrinda, Dinesh Jyotinagara, and several others participated as chief guests.

Managing trustee of the Mandir Trust, Ram Prasad, felicitated Patla Sathish Shetty on this occasion. Mahalingeshwar Bhat welcomed. Ashok Jyotinagara proposed vote of thanks. Praveen Moodushede and Purushotham presented the programme.
