Bengaluru, Nov 6: Jagadeesh, a resident of Hanumareddy colony in Electronic city and a Kannadiga cab driver, was allegedly assaulted by two North Indians for the only reason that he could not converse with them in Hindi. This incident took place on the night of Saturday, November 4 at Guttahalli main road.
Sheshadripuram police have arrested Param from Himachal Pradesh and Takur from Delhi for the alleged assault on the driver.
As per the report, Param had booked an Ola cab at 9 pm on November 4 and mentioned the destination of drop as Soorya Park near Guttahalli main road. However, on reaching the designated place, he asked Jagadeesh to drop him near BDA complex. When the driver asked him to get down as he has to go for one more trip, Param pressurized him to drop him to his home near BDA complex.
In the argument that ensued, Param insulted the cab driver for not knowing Hindi. Cab driver replied that this is Karnataka and Param should know Kannada. Once Param reached his destination, he and his friends assaulted the cab driver as per the complaint that is filed at the police station.
