Mangalore, Jun 23: MRPL Group General Manager (Human Resources) K Laksminarayan has kindled a hope among the cricket fans in the city, by talking about the possibility of setting up of a cricket stadium at the land earmarked for the II phase of the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ).
He was speaking at a function organized here for distributing prizes in respect of various tournaments organized by Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and DK Cricket Association(DKCA). Although the district has abounds in cricketing talents, resource crunch has been blocking their progress. Huge land will be utilized in the second phase of the special economic zone for storing of oil underground. Possibility of utilizing land lying above such storage facilities can be thought of. "Besides holding talks with the MSEZ chief executive officer and the MRPL chairman, I will extend whatever help possible evenif the stadium is decided to be built elsewhere," he assured.
