Puttur: Man gored to death by violent wild boar

Puttur, Nov 2: In an incident which happened inside the forest area at Madappady in Putthila village near Uppinangady, a man died after having been gored by a wild boar.

The deceased has been identified as Gangadhar Poojary (44), son of Shantappa Poojary, resident of Bodelu in Puthila village. Reportedly, Poojary had visited the forest area to collect vines for making baskets on Tuesday afternoon. He did not return even till late evening. The family members who went in search of him found his body lying beside a waterway inside the forest.

Poojary's wife, Jayashree, has filed a complaint about the incident at Punjalkatte police station. In her complaint she stated that her husband had been gored to death by a wild boar which perhaps confronted Poojary. Police personnel and forest officials visited the spot and conducted a scrutiny.

The deceased is survived by wife, a son and two daughters.

    Boars can attach humans deadly, he would have carried some weapons along with him ,very unfortunate.

    How could she make out death caused by a wild boar?Sad Heartfelt sympathy to the family.Noone heard his voice or calling ?
