Mangaluru, Nov 1: On the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, Kadri south and north BJP ward committees, felicitated traffic warden Maxim Moras near Padua College on Tuesday, October 31
The felicitation came as a surprise for Maxim when he was performing his duty at the busy junction. Vedavyas Kamath, president, BJP, Mangaluru south constituency, Roopa D Bangera and Poornima, corporators, Shakila Kava, Badrinath Kamath, Fedrik Paul, Srikanth Rao, Srinivas Shetty and Shobha Shekar were present during the
programme.
Praising to Maxim for his good work, Vedavyas Kamath said, "We know Maxim from many years. Showing concern towards society, he is serving as a traffic warden from the last three years. His service is an inspiration for all of us. Normally, people want to take rest in their retirement time. Many engage in pilgrimage. But Maxim is an eye opener for us in the matter of social service. Controlling traffic is not an easy task, that too when you are getting old. But the challenge of serving the society has made him strong and perfect. On the behalf the citizens of the city, I am thanking him. God give him good health and long life.”
Acknowledging the felicitation Maxim said, "I am doing this from the past three years. Actually, I started this work ten years ago, but was restricted to school areas only. The traffic department after recognizing me as an authorized traffic warden, asked me to handle the busy Nanthoor circle. Last year, they requested me to handle the busy junction at Padua here. I am happy to do this as it helps motorists and pedestrians. It is my duty towards the society. I have one request to all - please follow traffic and road rules. Violation will pave the way for big loss to yours or others’ family."
Maxim, who is 57, lives near Sandesha at Bajjodi. He runs school transportation service for children from the past 26 years.
