Udupi: Students urged to love nation at MITK Graduation Day

Udupi, Oct 24: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura, on Monday, October 23, organised its tenth Graduation Day ceremony at the institute premises.

The programme commenced with an academic procession into the auditorium.

Prof M S Shetty, who is considered the father of Concrete Technology in India was the chief guest. In his address to the graduates, he said that engineers were highly involved in the development of the nation and that fresh engineering graduates had to work with patriotic fevour. "The earlier career path may not be a bed of roses so you have to be prepared for self sacrifice and hard work in the service of the nation. Young engineers must be prepared to handle a hard life and sacrifice for the greater good. Fresh graduates must be progressive and be a part of India's transition towards being a super power, as the country needs young engineers. There are innumerable chances to develop yourselves. The country needs you. With this quality of young engineers, we can be confident 'Acche Din Zaroor Ayenge',” he said.

 























































He ended his speech with the Kannada poem 'Kannadanulidenage Anya Jeevanavilla… Bharathada Sanmana Enagadhuve Varamana'. He called upon the young engineers to always keep their country first.

Dr G P Shetty, guest of honour, in his address, asked the students to be honest and not wait for the best opportunities, instead grab the opportunities as they come and work very hard to achieve success and be the entrepreneurs themselves. He urged students to work hard to develop their skills and consistently work with sincerity, which he said was the key to success.

Chairman Siddarth Shetty declared the Graduation Day open. In his presidential address, he congratulated the graduates on becoming professionals and urged them to do justice to their profession.

Principal Dr Kataiah GS administered the institutional oath to the graduates. In his address he asked the fresh graduates to be independent, responsible and put more efforts into surviving in the competitive world

Students who graduated in the academic year 2016 -17 received their graduation certificates from the chief guest. Prof M S Shetty and guest of honour Dr G P Shetty, presented the gold and silver medals to the branch toppers.

Heads of the departments, and teaching and non-teaching faculty of MITK were present.

The event was hosted by Rolita and Rihan. Poornima welcomed the gathering. Dhanashree proposed the vote of thanks. Student president declared the Graduation Day closed. The event was followed by the national anthem and photo session.
