Mangaluru: KS Hegde Academy bags Global Partner Award from University of Minnesota, USA

Mangaluru, Oct 22: In an honour that reaffirms the quality of healthcare in Mangaluru, the division of public health, KS Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte University, has received the 2017 University of Minnesota, School of Public Health Global Partner Award.

The award has been conferred considering the contributions of the division of public health in academics, global health exchange programmes and rural healthcare.

The award will be presented at the 14th Annual Community Partners Celebration on November 1 at the Minneapolis Twin Cities campus.

The School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, hosts a month long summer school for the MPH students of Nitte University every year. This initiative is ably reciprocated by the division of public health, Nitte University, by accepting their MPH students for the Nitte Winter School every year. So far four batches of MPH students have been benefited by this student-exchange programme.

The chancellor, pro-chancellors, vice-chancellor, registrar and executive directors of Nitte University, dean of KS Hedge Medical Academy have congratulated the division and thanked the dean and the senior officials of University of Minnesota, School of Public Health for the award.
