Mangaluru, Oct 21: Fire broke out at the basement of Empire Mall here late night on Friday October 20.
The fire erupted in the electricity room of the basement of the mall.
As soon as the fire was noticed, locals gathered and took immediate steps to douse the fire. Several people joined hands and ensured that the fire did not spread.
Pandeshwar fire personnel arrived at the spot, but by then the fire had already been brought under control.
Short circuit was the cause of the fire, it is said.
There were expensive cars parked nearby, but fortunately no major harm was reported. But the room in which the fire erupted was badly damaged.
