Mangaluru, Oct 20: Karnataka State Student's Janata Dal (secular), Dakshina Kannada unit, was inaugurated on Monday, October 16, at Nethravathi Sabha Bhavan, near Mini Vidhana Soudha, here.
The ceremony was inaugurated by former minister K Amarnath Shetty. State president, Karnataka State Students Janata Dal (secular) R Chandrashekar, presided over the programme and distributed the appointment letter to newly appointed district president Sinan, and state general secretary Tejas Naik.
R Chandrashekar said that he would develop leadership among students and revitalise the party in the upcoming days.
District JD(S) president Mohammed Kunhi said "Students should stay away from communal violence and must build leadership qualities. They must work for peace and harmony."
District Youth JD(S) president Akshith Suvarna led the ceremony and introduced the various responsibilities to the students. He motivated students with his able leadership and promised to stand by them at all times, all over the district.
At the same time, many state and district leaders spoke at the ceremony.
On the occasion JD(S) State Minority vice president MK Khader, Mangaluru South constituency president Vasanth Poojary; state leaders, Hyder Parthippady, J Mohammed, Gopal Krishna Attavar, Faizel Rehman, Iqbal Mulki, Gurudas, Sridhar Gowda Bidare, Srinath Rai, district leaders Nasir Bunder, Kanakadas; District youth leaders, Madhusudhan Gowda, Likith Raj, Arshaq Ismail, Deepak, Kishore Shetty, Ratheesh Karkera, Hithesh Rai; District Students JD(S) leaders Prajwal BP, Lloyd Mulki, Kaushik Poojary, Samraz Razik, Celestine Albuquerque; and students from various colleges of Dakshina Kannada were present.
