Udupi: Senior citizen slits throat with knife, succumbs

Udupi, Oct 20: An aged person who slit his throat with a knife, breathed his last on Thursday October 19. This incident happened in the town.

The man who killed  himself in this fashion happened to be Valerian Bennett Ammanna (75), resident of Municipal colony, Bunts Hostel, Badagabettu here. He was suffering from cancer, it is learnt.

Valerian was frustrated with his chronic ailment. Overtaken by frustration, he is said to have slit his throat with a knife at about 11 am on Thursday. He was admitted into hospital in serious condition, and by 1 pm, lost his battle for life.

A case of unnatural death about this case stands filed in the town police station.
