Udupi, Oct 17: “People's love is the biggest gift and blessings for a politician. Winning an election is a rebirth. So this is a rebirth for former MP Jayaprakash Hegde who is celebrating 64th birth day. This is ‘parivarthan’ era in Karnataka and people are fed up with the current Congress-led state government,” said union minister for chemicals and fertilizer, Ananth Kumar Hegde at ‘Parivarthan samavesha -2017’ held at Valentine ground, near Ashraya hotel Brahmavar on Monday October 16.
The convention has been organized by district Bharatiya Janta Party, Udupi.
Slamming chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah, he said, “CM's three achievements are egoism, fraud and negligence. There is corruption wherever he puts his hands. Congress is like modern Bhasmasura and whatever they do, things go wrong,”
“A survey report says that there are 33,000 potholes on roads of Bengaluru. If Yeddyurappa wins the upcoming elections, there is a possibility of eliminating corrupt administration and develop the state. This is a transitional period for BJP and definitely BJP will win more than 150 assembly seats in state,” he added.
“This is the first convention in Udupi as part of ‘Nava Bharata Nirmana yatra’. The Congress leaders have now realized that the countdown of their empire in state has begun. Let us all take oath for solving the problems of farmers,” said Ananth Kumar.
Taking a jibe at CM Siddaramaiah, another senior BJP leader and former chief minister R Ashoka said, “This samavesha sends shivers down the spins of Congress leaders. Congress ministers are not working properly in Karnataka. Head master Siddaramaiah used to sleep in important meetings so I used to say ‘Let us wake up ‘Nidderammaiah’.”
“CM is inciting fire between castes. Instigating fire between different castes is the prime agenda of CM,” he added.
Commenting on ‘Shaadi Bhagya’, he said, “Are the poor found only in the other community? The law and order has completely deteriorated in the state.”
“If Rahul Gandhi launches the election campaign in Karnataka, Congress will lose its existence. Wherever he keeps his foot, Congress party loses miserably. CM Siddaramaiah is speaking about ‘Loot ki Baat’ by looting the money,” he said.
“CM Siddaramaiah is planning to construct steel bridge by investing Rs 2000 crores. On November 2, the state BJP will launch ‘Parivarthan yatra and BJP president Amit Shah will inaugurate the campaign in Bengaluru.Though the opposition party has 100 years of history, still they are struggling to prevent Congress leaders joining BJP,” he added.
Udupi-Chikkamagluru MP Shobha Karandlaje said, “We are confidence of making Udupi Congress free and win all five seats in the constituency. Earlier BJP brought enough funds for the development of Udupi. The present district in-charge minister should give a proper report about how much amount has been released for Udupi in last four years of Congress rule.”
“Even after four months, school children have not got the textbooks. People have not got ration cards. The union government purchases rice at Rs 31 per kg and provides it to state for Rs 3 per kg and for wheat the actual price is Rs 21 and gives to the state Rs 2 per kg. But families get them in the state at Rs 7 per kg.”
“The state government is enjoying the interest amount which is given by central government. The Parivarthan yatra led by Yeddyurappa will strengthen the party even more,” she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayaprakash Hegde said, “Joining BJP party is not enough but forming like-minded opinion is also important. Only then it is possible to win five out of five seats in Udupi. There are many youths who want to join BJP from Kundapur and Udupi.”
Regarding rejuvenation of sugar factory, he said, “Both sugar factory and Varahi project have started together but only some places are getting water from Varahi.”
“I have served as the president in sugar factory management committee for few years. I have given Rs 45 lacs from my picket to repay the loan. Then now Siddaramaiah has released Rs five crores. There were chances to call for tender for purchasing the factory only if it was kept running. In four years nothing has been done. What will they do now in few months?”
“The Congress government is taking credit for schemes started by BJP government in the state. Congress should not stamp its label on other’s works,” he added.
Prathap Hegde Marali welcomed the gatherings. Former MLA Raghupati Bhat delivered keynote address.
Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, district BJP president Mattaru Ratnakara Hegde, ZP president Dinakar Babu, vice president Sheela K Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Geethanjali Suvarna, Sandhya Ramesh, Kuyladi Suresh Nayak and others were present.
