Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (AM/ANK) Mangaluru, Oct 14: In yet another case of over-speeding, a bus went out of control at Maravoor on Saturday, October 14. A service bus, plying between Mangaluru city and Kateel, rammed into a car coming from the opposite direction while trying to overtake a vehicle. People have spotted the over-speeding on the Maravoor highway.
An auto rickshaw which was following the car, rammed into it, injuring the rickshaw driver. He was taken to a hospital as he sustained minor injuries. Traffic police north have registered a case.
Have the police used the breathalyzer on these private bus drivers anytime. The police their main target are the riders without helmet. Have they used the breathalyzer on the city, service, express bus drivers while they are driving.
What about our dear MLA's and MP's doing about this whole episode which is like a wild disease to the society. For ages we are all making noise that private busses should be banned in DK. But ofcourse if it serves the purpose of filling the pot of any political party for the election campaign, nothing can be done and we citizen's like fools will go and elect the same leaders. What an irony.Jai Hind.
City bus and Service buses are the biggest problems for Mangaluru. They do not seem to follow any rules and regulations. They stop anywhere when a person holds his hand out. They block the roads and pickup passengers even if there is no Bus stand. All the vehicles behind them should wait till they finish. But if a car or auto stops to pick a passenger, they seem to be doing biggest offence committed and shout at the car or auto and abuse them with all the foul language. There is a road hump near St Josephs school near Valencia which is till middle of the of the road and near the end of the road the hump is missing or City Corporation missed it. The way the city buses ply in that hump missing is really very dangerous to watch. At top speed they go in this road is really worrisome. I do not know why the Police are keeping eyes shut at this place. Police wants to punish the bike and scooter riders without a helmet but keeps mum on the Bus.
Our Police Department is so innocent and efficient that they do ot find any violence by the busses.Look at the number of violence registered by them for driving without helmets, seat belts, emmission test, Insurance etc. But they fail to register the non-stop violence by the busses right from 7 a.m. to late night by thesd busses. If the busses follow discipline i'm sure even those on byke's would not need helmets or insurance
Bus drivers do not seem to care for lives or property. In the context of the scenario perhaps fitting busses with speed governors. In the alternative, heavy fines should be imposed on the erring drivers.
I am back in Bahrain in One piece, Three days ago my daughter and myself was to run over by the Green bus BMTC near Apollo Hospital.
All buses are fully insured. Just reminding you.
The Bus Pilot can now join Air India ...
This particular bus Saisha has many route buses and most of these Saisha bus drivers are very rash in driving . I have personally seen this .The owner of the bus should be held for this accident and these accidents don’t matter the owner of the bus because. I have heard the owner is a very high influential person Cancel the license of the driver and catch hold the owner also
Nationalise the bus routs in DK. Problem slove.
Nationalising the bus routes is not a solution as the same drivers will start working for KSRTC. Exemplary punishment to the driver is a better solution. Some of the drivers on the KSRTC buses are also found over speeding on the buses with no speed governors.
Yes, Nationalization will solve majority of the problems and also saves lots of lives. The problem is many of our DK/Udupi politicians are involved in bus transport business directly or indirectly. So nationalization may not come true very soon.
Burn the pvt busses if they meet with accidents if they are found driving rash. That time bus owners will make strict warnings to drivers not to drive fastOrKeep speed limit is city bus to 30km/hr. In city bus don’t need 60km/hr.
You are wrong. The bus owners only encourage drivers and conductors to get more collection . Otherwise they loose the job..
after burning the bus, there shall be nothing to collect. only burnt parts
G R PrabhujiEncouraging at the cost of life??Or else put pvt bus speed limit at 30km/hr
Most of the buses work on fixed daily rental to the owner. Rest of the collection is shared between the bus driver & conductor on percentages basis after paying for the diesel expences.
