Mangaluru, Oct 11: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said on Wednesday, October 11, informed that Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) will be promoted with a 'Mudra Promotion Campaign' at Town Hall on October 16.
Addressing mediapersons, he said, “Dakshina Kannada district has achieved huge success in implementing central government’s programmes like PMMY and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). The government of India is looking forward to promote Mudra loans, financial inclusion schemes and digital payment methods to encourage consumers
and merchants to increasingly shift to these payment methods. To facilitate this objective, it is proposed by the union government to arrange 'Mudra Promotion Campaign' to reach out to people. In Mangaluru, the campaign will be organised on October 16 and the occasion will be graced by Ananth Hegde, union minister for skill development.”
“‘Mudra Promotion Campaign’ is organised in Mangaluru by the district administration with necessary assistance from State Level Bankers Committee, Karnataka, represented by the lead district office, Syndicate Bank, Mangaluru. The promotion campaign will have distribution of sanctioned ‘Mudra’ and ‘Stand-Up India’ loans, bank account opening, Aadhaar seeding and authentication with the consent of account holder, mobile seeding, distribution and activation of RuPay cards, enrollment of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. So it is a kind invitation to all who are going to take benefits of the plans,” he added.
“Hundred of applicants have already reaped benefits of ‘Stand-Up India’ plan. It is exclusively for members of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) and women. But the government wants more people to take advantage of this plan. Many of them do not know about these plans. Hence, on the day of ‘Mudra Promotion Campaign’, we will arrange a special information centre to provide more information about it. Beside this, various banks of our region will set up stalls at the venue,” he concluded.
