Udupi, Oct 9: Sri Ramachandra Swamiji of Kapilasharam at Uttara Kashi said that the major aim of the proposed 'Dharma Sansad' being held at Udupi is to hold high the traditions of ancient Hindu religion and follow basic principles of Hinduism in Indian parliament.
The Swamiji was speaking after inaugurating the convention of activists organized under the aegis of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal on Sunday October 8 at the auditorium of Kaup Goddess Hale Mariyamma temple. This programme was held as a precursor to the 'Dharma Sansad' programme being held at Udupi during November this year.
Bajrang Dal provincial convener, Sharan Pumpwell, speaking on the occasion, predicted that 'Dharma Sansad' being held in the town on November 24, 25, and 26 will be a historic programme. He said that this programme will pave way for arriving at a concrete decision about construction of Ram Mandir at the holy land of Ayodhya.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad provincial president, M B Puranik, said that the proposed 'Dharma Sansad' programme will be the biggest convention in the ancient Indian traditions where more than two lac Hindu activists are expected to take part.
Arun Kamath, Kaup area Pramukh of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, presided. Bajrang Dal Mangaluru division joint convener, Sunil K R, Bajrang Dal Kaup area convener, Rajesh Kotian, Bajrang Dal convener, and Sudhir Kaup, were present at the dais.
Former MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, zilla panchayat members, Shilpa G Suvarna, Geetanjali M Suvarna, Shashikant Padubidri, Prakash Shetty Padebettu, Taranath Kotian, Udayakumar Shetty Inna, Gangadhar Suvarna and several others were present.
Bajrang Dal joint convener, Jayaprakash Prabhu Mattaru, welcomed. Vishwa Hindu Parishad Shirva zone president, Raveendra Patkar, proposed vote of thanks. City unit president, Santosh Suvarja Bolje, presented the programme.
