Mysuru, Oct 9: Terming Karnataka chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah as his political adversary, former state minister, V Srinivas Prasad, spelt out his ultimate goal in life as annihilation of Siddaramaiah.
"Siddaramaiah happens to be a common political adversary for myself, and political leaders from the city, G T Deve Gowda and H Vishwanath. The only prime goal of my future political life is to finish off Siddaramaiah politically," Prasad explained.
Srinivas Prasad acknowledged that former minister, Vishwanath, and MLA, G T Deve Gowda, had met him to discuss about the development of Chamundeshwari constituency here. He opined that Deve Gowda had given a fitting reply to the statement made by Siddaramaiah. "As Deve Gowda is in another party now, it would not be right for me
to say that I am supporting him. But like Vishwanath and Deve Gowda, I have set myself the goal of defeating Siddaramaiah in the coming election," he explained.
He termed the claim made by Siddaramaiah that he would be the next CM of the state as shameful. "Although the party has a state president in the form of Dr G Parameshwara, Siddaramaiah has been telling everyone that the election would be held under his leadership. Parameshwara, who not even dared to oppose the statement of the chief minister, is not fit enough to even become zilla panchayat member," he commented, speaking to media persons here on Sunday October 8.
"Siddaramaiah is a political killer. For the purpose of defeating me in the Nanjangud bypoll, he spent Rs 44 crore to get 44,000 votes. For the sake of power, he is ready to hire people for politically paralyze someone. Therefore, I have set before me the target of defeating him," he stated.
When the media persons sought his response for the rumours that former BJP MP, C H Vijay Shankar, is considering to cross over to Congress, he said he does not know anything about this issue. But MP, Pratap Simha, who was with Prasad at the time, said that he is aware of the matter. "Compared to Vijay Shankar, I am very junior. But we will not follow our seniors if they go astray. It is said that he is in touch with Congress MLAs,K Venkatesh and Manjunath," he stated.
