Mangaluru, Sep 22: Popular Konkani monthly ‘Naman Ballok Jezu’ is set to host its annual NBJ Yuva Pratibha Puraskar. This year, the monthly will mark nine years of its completion and is on its mission to find young talents in Konkani speaking community, recognise and honour them.
The award will be held in collaboration with Amulya Akash.
Deserving candidate or anyone on their behalf may send in their applications.
Started in 2015, the award fetches an award of Rs 20,000 along with a trophy and a certificate. The talent search had one category earlier, but this year, there will be two.
The first category will be 'Best Artist' which includes excellence in art, acting, short films, singing, dance, choreography, direction, lyrics, music, and music direction. The second category is the 'Best Sports Person' which includes achievers in athletics, sports and games.
The guidelines for applicants are as follows -
- Age limit is 16-30 years
- Full personal details with address, phone number, photo copy of the certificates of achievement, four passport size photos, and two full size photos are to be submitted
- A recommendation letter from the college, institution or the parish priest is necessary
- Applications may be sent by the individual or the institution
- Last date to accept applications is November 1, 2017
Results will be announced in November. The awards would be given in November during the annual day celebration of NBJ magazine.

Naman Ballok Jezu will also commence the person of the year award for outstanding achievement in life. Here, the individual cannot apply. Anyone can recommend a name to the above address. The committee will make a detailed study thereafter.
