Udupi, Jun 2: Catholic Sabha unit of Kallianpur deanery and Konkani Sangatan of the district organised a workshop on Great Konkani litterateurs at Mount Rosary Churh Hall Kallianpur on Sunday June 1.

Well-known Konkani writer, poetess Gladys Rego  was the resource person on the occasion. She spoke on the life of Josa Alvares, SEvlalia Alvares and  A T Lobo. She also dealt at length with the various characters potrayed in the first Konkani novel Angel. She had some special comments to make and explain about  various women characters in the same novel. 

President of the Konkani sangatan Dr Gerald Pinto introduced the speaker. President of Catholic Sabha  Felix Pinto welcomed the gathering. Secretary Avitas Carnelio proposed vote of thanks. Louis D Almeida, the secretary of the sagatan and representatives from all the parishes of Kallianpur deanery were present.
