Bengaluru, Sep 5: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, said that the BJP leaders, who are struggling for power, are trying to bring communal forces into Dakshina Kannada district in the name of 'Mangaluru Chalo' motor bike rally. "Their aim is to disrupt communal harmony in the district. The government will not allow them to succeed in their ulterior plan," he stressed.
Rai, speaking at a press conference held at Bengaluru on Monday September 5, said that some planned murders had happened in the district, and BJP leaders wanted to bring the region into turmoil and keep up the tempo of tension till the next assembly election. As their plan failed, now they have planned to hold bike rally. If their aim was to strike harmony, they could have achieved their objective by holding rally locally. The fact that the party plans to bring people from various parts of the state makes it clear that its intentions are not honest. This is clearly an attempt to disrupt harmony," Rai stated.
"Nehru had warned that if minorities turn communal, their own communities will face danger. If majority community turns into fundamentalists, it endangers the entire country. This is what is happening in Dakshina Kannada. In politically motivated murders, more than Hindus, others have lost their lives. BJP has converted Karnataka coast into a laboratory for Hindutva policy. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has its hub at Nagpur. Likewise, coast of the state is the centre of activities for BJP. BJP is involved with the task of giving rise to enmity between different castes and religions in order to reap political benefit," he explained.
Rai noted that BJP has been demanding for banning SDPI, PFI etc. He noted that SDPI, which has been identified as a political party, is active also in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, he felt that if it has to be banned, the central government should do it. He suggested BJP leaders to take up the issue with the central government.
