Mangaluru, Sep 1: In a big win for St Aloysius institute, two of its students from its High School Varun S, Karthik, and four students from its college, Elton, Sushant, Ananya and Aston, brought to their alma mater great laurels in the district level swimming competition.
The inter-school swimming competition that was organised on Friday, August 18, by the department of public instruction, government of Karnataka at Victoria High School, Ladyhill.

Varun (17), secured the first place in 800 metre Freestyle event with a record of 00:13:40:78, second place in 100 metre Butterfly, with a record of 1.37.16, and third place in 400 metre freestyle.
Karthik (17) secured the first place in 200 metre individual Medley with a record of 00:03:08:18, second place in 50 metre Butterfly with a record of 00:00:33:88, and third place in 100 metre Backstroke with a record of 00:01:27:54.
Varun and Karthik secured third place in 4x100 metre Medley relay with a record of 00:7:54:08.
Elton, Sushanth, Ananya and Aston from SAC had competed in the inter-collegiate competition where they bagged the first place in (200x4) 800 metre Freestyle relay, 100x4 metre Freestyle relay, and 100x4 metre Medley relay which included Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.
All students were coached by Prashanth, at St Aloysius Swimming Pool.
