Mangaluru, Sep 1: Students and alumni of St Aloysius PU College, on Saturday September 2, will hold 'Citizen Alliance to Uphold Service and Exchange', a charity programme, at City Centre Mall.
The concluding ceremony of the event will be held on Sunday, September 3 at Forum Fiza Mall.
Suhan Alva, head of the organising committee said, "To the downtrodden, forgotten and penniless, we are the saving grace, we are the last resort. Wholly empowered by students, this noble cause is taking leaps of faith towards changing the nation."
He said, "This year, dancer Disha Madan will grace the occasion as chief guest for the concluding ceremony. The event will start at 4 pm with numerous dances, live band performances, brownies and cupcakes and handmade bookmarks by Aloysians, to raise funds for the cause. The proceedings will be used to help the chosen shelters for the year.
"We have done charity works of the like in the past few years and have gotten positive response from students and the public. This year, we plan to build a house for an economically disadvantaged student. We request the public for support is in this effort," Suhan said.
