Mangaluru, Aug 11: Joylus D’Souza, district president of BJP Minority Morcha, Dakshina Kannada district, appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating ‘Shaadi Shagun’, a plan to grant a sum of Rs 51,000 to girls of the minority community to complete their graduation.
D’Souza opined that this step has been taken to ensure that Muslim girls in the country attain higher education before marriage.
“The government’s step is significant because a large number of girls from the Muslim community still do not receive higher education. Hence, Shaadi Shagun scheme will encourage Muslim girls and their parents to educate them at least to university or college level,” he said.
D’Souza also praised Modi’s vision and said that he has indeed taken a major step in the direction of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
