Puttur, Aug 9: The Eco Club of St Philomena College inaugurated its activities on August 5 at Spandana Seminar Hall.
Edwin D’Souza, assistant professor, department of chemistry was the chief guest. He said, "Adequate supply of fresh and clean drinking water is a basic need for all human beings on earth. It has been observed that majority of the people are deprived of this, due to ecological degradation."
Professor Leo Noronha, principal presided over the programme. He said, "Industrialization, urbanization and other human activities have serious and adverse impacts on our environment."
The convenor of the Eco Club, Nagaraju M, co-convenors Rakshitha R B and Shashiprabha B were present.
Dhanyashree welcomed the gathering. Navyashree proposed the vote of thanks. Antony Shreyas Rodrigues compered the programme.
