Udupi, Jul 16: Silas International School here hosted an inter-school cultural programme for juniors and seniors in association with AICS,  in the school hall on Saturday, July 15.

Hundreds of students from various schools enthusiastically participated in the scheduled cultural programmes, including students from 21 local schools.

Renu Jayaram, managing partner of Jayadev, and the partner and founder president of POWER, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the children, Renu Jayaram said, “I have come here after 14 years. The school has given me an amazing experience. The teachers are inspiration and model to students through their dedicated service. Parents and teachers are like two tyres of a vehicle. They are responsible for managing children.

The children should know the value of time. Students should participate in extracurricular activities too. Communication skills are essential for expressing one's opinion,” she added.

Jayaram further said, “This cultural programme will help build teamwork and understand each other. A student should have a specific goal and must give his or her best at any competition. Students should involve themselves fully in any task and should work on their emotions. Children should be humble and should share their secret of success with others. They should not get disappointed, while in failure, but instead, review possible causes of their failure. There is a need to learn to accept failure and handle in a balanced manner.”

Vice principal of the school, Elizabeth Joseph, welcomed the gathering. Teacher Dinesh delivered the vote of thanks. Leena Rajan compered the programme. Dierdra S Maben, principal of Silas International School was present on occasion.
