Panaji, Apr 26: British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling's mother Fiona Mackeown will be arriving in India on Saturday April 26 to take up the matter regarding missing body parts of her daughter with Goan authorities.
Fiona will be flying from London to Mumbai and will arrive in Goa in the evening, her advocate Vikram Varma stated.
Scarlett's murder on Goa's popular Anjuna beach on February 18 had snowballed into a major international controversy with question marks being raised on Goa's safety as a tourist destination.
The episode had also exposed the murkier side of Goa which is increasingly getting popularity as drugs heaven especially north Goa's coastal areas like Vagator, Anjuna and Baga.
Police had arrested two locals for their alleged involvement in drugging, raping and leaving Scarlett to die in the beach water.
The controversy refused to die down even after Fiona took away Scarlett's body on May 30 as the third autopsy in UK revealed that the body organs like stomach, kidneys and uterus are missing from her body.
"Fiona will take up the missing organs issue with the local authorities during her visit here. She will have to take the stand on whether she will bury those organs here or will bury them with scarlett's body which is still undergoing autopsy in UK," Varma said.
The mother is also likely to take up the case of Mike Mannion, a British eyewitness, who was summoned to Goa after serving a look out notice and still hauled up in the state. "Mannion has already presented himself before the authorities but still the police have refused to lift his look out notice," Varma said.
Mannion, a British tourist, is a key eyewitness in the case, who had seen one of the accused Samson D'Souza lying on Scarlett hours before her bruised corpse was found on the shore.
Goa police, meanwhile, has said that they are waiting for the CBI to take over the case. "We are waiting for the CBI to take over the case as we have already written to them," superintendent of police Bosco George stated.
