Mangaluru, Jul 8: The 5th Students' Association of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College was inaugurated at the college on Friday, July 7.
The chief guest on the occasion, M P Noronha, advocate and governing board member of FMCI, addressed the gathering and said, "Medical students are required to excel not only in studies, but also in extra-curricular activities like cultural and sports activities by taking leadership. Doctor leaders are required to serve the society. Doctor is the one who has knowledge, skills and attitude."
Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions, who presided over the programme, quoted ‘Opportunity Statue of Greece’ and said, "Opportunities have to be grabbed to become leaders. Otherwise, you will miss them forever. Students must chase their dreams and achieve success in the society."
Earlier, Dr Girish Navada, staff advisor, Students’ Association, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest to the audience.
Dr Shivaprasad K, principal, declared the names of the new office bearers of the Students’ Association for 2017-18 and handed over the badges. Fr Sylvester Lobo, assistant administrator, FMHMCH administered the oath to the office bearers and wished them all the best for the coming year. Dr Prabhu Kiran, vice-principal, was also present.
Vinod Patil, former president, Students’ Association gave the farewell speech and the new president, M Upendranadh gave the acceptance speech.
Harshitha, general secretary, Students’ Association, proposed the vote of thanks.
