Panaji, Apr 18: Forensic examination on the dead body of a 29-year-old Russian found dead in a guest house at Vagator has raised suspicion on the cause of his death.
The report confirms eleven ante mortem injuries on the body of Kabanov Valdimir. The autopsy conducted on the body suggests that investigation officer (IO) should investigate the manner of death.
The postmortem report conducted by Goa medical college and hospital's associate professor E J Rodrigues has reserved the exact cause of death pending reports of chemical analysis and histopathological examination.
Valdimir was found dead on April 13 in a guest house with a syringe in his hand.
Though Goa police have refrained from making any statements, prima facie they had claimed that the death may be due to drug overdose.
"Nothing can be said anything at this moment. Viscera is kept for further examination which will reveal the cause of death," superintendent of police Bosco George stated.
The postmortem report, however, raises suspicions on the cause of death as ante mortem injuries with blunt objects are marked during the autopsy.
The injuries are on the chest, forehead, back and chin and postmortem has confirmed that the injuries were due to hitting of blunt object.
Valdimir had checked in the guest house on April 11. According to the police the room was latched from inside when they found the body.
