On Thursday, shops opened as usual in all the places. Traffic was also normal. No untoward incidents were reported.

The taluk is still under tight security to prevent any further trouble. IGP Harishekharan, new SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, outgoing SP Bhushan G Borase and Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai are stationed in Bantwal limits and controlling the situation.

The slain Ashraf was laid to rest in Kalayi Juma Masjid late night. Thousands of people gathered and tight security was in place. A staff of Brahmarakootlu toll gate was injured in stone-pelting when the body was brought from Kannur to Kalayi. A complaint has been registered in Bantwal police station.

Five special teams including DCIB have been formed to arrest the suspects. Police are investigating various angles including personal motives. Several have been taken into custody for questioning. The police have reportedly got some important clues and are confident of arresting the accused soon.

The only solution for thjs problem is proper Law and order situation.

don't spare any antisocial elements of either communities and see that they are punished to the maximum so he should think 10 times further later... , rest everything will be taken care.

the Problem in DK is Congress minister supporting antisocial guys of some community and BJP doing the same from other communities and viceversa.

Police should act immediately and see that common man is not affected, if this is not controlled then the entire belt NH from Mangalore to Uppinangady (i.e Adyar, farangipet, maripalla, Thumbe, BC road, kalladka, Vittal, Mani, kabaka, uppinangady) will be a communal sensitive areas henceforth and it will be difficult for common man to make his lives.

Diamonds can be cut by diamond only. Tough lawless goondas can be controlled by tough cops only. Even a toughest goonda is afraid when harm comes to his life. For him, his life is precious, others not.

Good job ADGP. Its really appalling that any 'sensitive ' area , any 'riot' hit area, any illegal cow slaughter house, any arrested cattle thief, any arrested terrorist in any part of the word, any asylum seeker turning ungrateful to his adopted land, has one common factor. No prizes for guessing. The law and order system has to keep its eyes and ears open. Prevention is better than cure.
