Mangaluru, Jun 22: Prohibitory orders under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code have been extended all over Dakshina Kannada district till 12 midnight on June 27.
The prohibitory orders issued earlier in all taluks except city commissionerate limits had been extended from June 14 to 21. In the background of a murder which happened at Benjanapadavu in Bantwal taluk on Wednesday, the orders were extended again and made applicable for one more week till June 27.
District magistrate and deputy commissioner, Dr K G Jagadeesh, issued this order on June 21.
A later order dated Thursday, June 22 has included the Mangaluru city commissionerate. It says order will remain imposed in the commissionerate from 22 June, 10 am to 27 June midnight. With this the entire Dakshina Kannada district faces prohibitory orders till the mentioned date.
Forming of crowds, carrying of weapons, raising slogans and organizing processions have been banned during this period.
