Mangaluru, Jun 17: Dakshina Kannada police, in a press release, stated that there had been friction between Ibrahim Khaleel and Ratnakar Shetty at Kalladka on June 13 this year, and also stone pelting incident had happened there. They noted that Ibrahim Khaleel has been facing eight cases registered against him since 2014, and that Ratnakar Shetty has nine cases registered against him since 2003.
"10 criminal cases have been registered so far in relation to the said incidents at Kalladka. People from both the communities involved have been cooperating with the investigation. Still, some anti-social elements have been continuing to spread instigating messages through social media. We request people never to forward such messages. If anyone is found to be forwarding such messages, they will face legal action," the police stated.
Through the release, the polie have also requested people coming across such hate messages to take their screen shots and send them to either cellphone number 9480800941 or district control room cellphone number 9480805300 and help the police to maintain peace in the district. They have assured to maintain the identities of the people sending such information a secret.
