What's up with these IISC/IRB engineers? This is the second such similar tragedy under their belt. The construction is progressing unplanned as there is no slope to the steep cut of the hillock nor are there rain water drainage facilities. Most of us may hate Navayug Engineering Company who constructed the Talapady-Kundapur highway for their slow work progress and collection of toll but it is commendable that their construction has never faced such situations and as such been of a better quality.

This landslide near Kumta was unavoidable as the mud had become loose due to heavy rains and moreover the houses where these people lived was just below the muddy hill. RIP.
