Udupi, Jun 10: District unit of Bharatiya Janata Party will organise ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ convention in the district on June 16 to celebrate three years of Narendra Modi government, as directed by the central government, informed district BJP president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde.
Addressing mediapersons at BJP office on Saturday, June 10 he said, “Certain amount of fund has been released to organise the convention. Minister of state (Independent Charge) for commerce and industry Nirmala Sitharaman has been assigned as in charge of this programme. As per schedule, the minister will visit various parts of the district followed by a visit to Chikkamagaluru”.
“On June 15, Nirmala Sitaraman will depart from Bengaluru at 5 am, and will reach by road via Hassan to Chikkamagaluru at around 9.30 am. She will also take part in a tree plantation programme organised at Kodandarama Temple, Hiremagaluru at 10 am. A press meet will follow the programme. Followed by lunch, there will be a meeting with coffee growers. ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ convention will be held from 3 pm to 4.30 pm. The minister will then travel to Udupi by road via Sringeri-Agumbe-Hebri-Manipal route and halt in Udupi overnight,” he said.
“On June 16, early morning the minister will pay a visit to Sri Krishna temple. A press conference will be organised at town BJP office, Kadiyali at 9 am. Followed by this, an interaction programme is organized with charted accountants, industrialists and Chamber of Commerce office bearers. Udupi Chamber Of Commerce and Industry auditorium, located at Sri Ram arcade is the venue. At 12 noon, the minister will take part in a foundation laying ceremony of GTEPC near Karavali bypass. Followed by lunch, she will visit sea erosion affected areas. Then, ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ convention will be held at Mahalakshmi Sabhabhavan, Uchila. It is open for public. After widing up the programme, the minister will leave to Mangaluru,” he added.

Justifying the incident where five people were killed after a firing incident in Madhya Pradesh he said, “It was only an accident and not intentional. Police did not shoot at the crowd. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi went to Madhya Pradesh to make use of the political opportunity, where he got good hospitality. He never interferes in other matters. It was all about political gimmicks.”
