Mangaluru, Jun 8: Four persons have surrendered in the court in connection to the murder of Prashant Poojary in Moodbidri in 2015.
Prashant Poojary, a flower vendor and right-wing activist, was murderd in the wee hours of October 9, 2015. His murder here had given rise to turmoil in the district and hit national headlines.

Four of the accused, namely Akbar Valachil (30), Siraj Ullal (28), Anwar Bajpe and Tajuddin Bajpe have surrendered in the Moodbidri court.
It is learnt that the four also confessed to having attacked persons named Vasu and Ashok near Handelu on Mangaluru-Moodbidri highway, just a few days before Prashant Poojary's murder.
The court remanded the four in judicial custody for 14 days.
Altogether, there are 17 accused in the murder case, out of whom 10 had been arrested. Three more, namely Nawaz Mangaluru, Irshad Bajpe and Mustaf Bajpe, are absconding. Among the accused, Mustafa Kavoor died after he was attacked in Mysuru jail by undertrial Kiran Shetty, a friend of Prashant Poojary. Among the remaining nine, most have been granted bail.
