Mysuru, Jun 4: Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah on Saturday said that he is the only CM from state who has fulfilled the promises made during elections.
He was speaking at the ‘Kotta Maathu Ditta Sadhane’ programme held at Maharaja Grounds here on Saturday, June 3.
“No government including that of Ramakrishna Hegde, H D Deve Gowda and Dharam Singh kept up the promises made during elections. But this government has managed to fulfil 90% of the promises made in the election manifesto,” he added.
“I will fulfil the remaining promises within a year and keep my word.” he said.
“I have seen many governments. I worked under Ramakrishna Hegde, S R Bommai, H D Deve Gowda, J H Patel, and Dharam Singh as either deputy chief minister or finance minister and I also held other portfolios. Not a single government has lived up to expectation when it comes to keeping promises. Some failed miserably by dumping the promises in the dust bin. But my government has not failed in this matter,” Siddaramaiah continued.
“We made 165 promises in the manifesto. 155 of them have been fulfilled. Now we remain with only 10. I have presented the budget 12 times out which 5 times as chief minister. Every time I prepared the budget, I made sure that the manifesto was with me. I noted the promises and implemented them one by one in the budget,” he said.
“I remain with one more budget and every single promise will have been fulfilled after presenting it,” he informed.
“BJP chief Yeddyurappa has said that he will force me to waive farmer loans. Let him first force Prime Minister Narendra Modi to waive farmer loans from the central government.” he concluded.
