Bahrain, Apr 7: The Konkani Community of Sacred Heart Church, Bahrain celebrated Easter Fellowship recently at the Social Hall with great enthusiasm. The event was packed with a variety of entertainment programmes and refreshments.
The event began with a prayer by spiritual director Fr Vincent D’Souza.
The audience were treated to a variety of entertainment programmes including melodious songs like Konkani Konkani and Paskanchi Rath by the community choir. There were also solo numbers by Minino called 'Manglorekar Ou Goenkar', 'Ankvar Mariechem dhuk' by Kishore, 'Sunneachi dhekh' by Antony and 'Mhaka novro mella Gatagar' by the upcoming teenaged singer Hanna Miranda.
There were also folk dances presented by children of the Goan community entitled 'Kunbi Dance' choreographed by Kishore and Ophelia.
Priya Mascarenhas, Nishel Gomes and Susan Alva presented a dance entitled 'Goa amchen' choreographed by Priya Mascarenhas.
Hilarious comedy skits called 'Kuru Kuru Mama' amd 'Colouring the T-shirt' were presented by Alwyn Peris, Sujay, Stany and George. 'Mogache Ixt' presented by Claud and Kishore.
Parish priest, Fr Thomas Quadros in his address reiterated that the joy of Easter does not end with Easter but must continues to live on throughout the year.
The event was capped off with refreshments and a round of bingo. Attractive prizes were presented to the winners by the parish priest and the spiritual director. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Freddy and with the song 'Argam Tuka Somia.'
Hilery Tellis and Minino Fernandes jointly compered the event.
