Hotels will remain closed from 5 am to 11 pm, it is gathered.
Hotel owners have said that 18% tax at AC eateries and 12% tax at non-AC eateries are on the higher side and hence should be withdrawn. Around 2,500 to 3,000 eateries which belong to the association are expected to participate in the bandh. It is yet to be known how other owners will respond to the bandh. Association members will protest at Mysuru Circle on Tuesday morning and submit a petition to the government.
Medical store owners say that the government opening E-Portal for sale of online medicine is a wrong move and should be stopped. They say more than 8.5 lacs workers, who depend on medical stores for their livelihood, are in trouble because of online sales of medicines. They also say national medical policy was ignored while opening E-Portal for online sales of medicines.
Both these bandhs are expected to inconvenience the consumers a lot as medicine and food are necessities.
