Mangaluru, May 29: The meteorological department has predicted rainfall in the coast to begin continuously from Monday, May 29. It said that the state's coast is likely to experience good rainfall coupled with strong wind apart from thunder and lightning.
Monsoon is expected to enter Kerala coast on May 30. The department has said that districts like Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Udupi, Mandya, Mysuru, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chikkaballapur, Hassan, Bengaluru rural, Chamarajanagar etc are expected to experience good rainfall during this period. Bengaluru city is getting good rains particularly during the nights since the last several days. The department stated that the fall in atmospheric pressure in Bay of Bengal has supported the notion of early monsoon through cyclonic storms in the early stages.
Sullia, Kadaba and Subrahmanya in Dakshina Kannada district received good rainfall on Sunday. These areas also experienced thunder and lightning. Many other parts in Karnataka coast received drizzle while some other areas were covered by thick clouds. Karkala got some rain on Sunday morning.
