Bengaluru, May 28: Complaints of water-logging and tree falls flooded Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s control rooms as the rains in city continued to wreak havoc on Saturday, May 27.
Water gushed into houses in many parts of the city. Around 50 houses have complained that their houses were flooded. Palike had tough time in dealing with these complaints.
Water-logging was reported at Vijaya Bank Layout, Bilekahalli due to which people were unable to go out.
Trees were uprooted at Bellandur, Byatarayanapura, Madiwala, Banashankari BDA Complex, Jayanagar 9th Block, BTM Layout and at JP Nagar.
Three people were injured in a tree fall at JP Nagar, near Ragi Gudda,
People also complained about contaminated water supply. In some places sewerage lines got blocked. Unbearable stench was also experienced in these places.
Traffic jams were witnessed at Begur road stretch, HRBR Layout 1st Block, BTM Layout 1st Stage, Anil Kumble Circle, Tannery Road, Fraser Town, Corporation Circle, Mehkri Circle, Nrupatunga Road and at Bannergatta Road near Fortis Hospital.
