Bantwal, May 26: A youth was stabbed by three persons in Kalladka near here on Friday, May 26.
Mohammed Hashir (18), the victim, sustained injuries and has been admitted to a hospital at Thumbay.
Initial reports stated that two had been injured, but higher officials have confirmed that only one was injured.
It is said that Hashir, Jamal and another youth were returning from mosque after Friday prayers when three miscreants came by car and attacked them, before fleeing the spot in the same car.
Police later identified the assailants as Mithun, Amit and Yathin.
Tension prevailed at the spot as people began to assemble on hearing the news of the attack. Bantwal town police led by A K Rakshit rushed to the spot and beefed up the security.
Police have deployed four KSRP platoons along with district police personnel at the spot.
People also gathered at the hospital where the youths have been admitted.
Bantwal rural police arrived at the spot for further investigations.
