Bengaluru, May 26: Karnataka Congress will see a new state chief by May 31, said party sources.
Top leaders have already begun activities to find a new chief of their choice, sources say.
Some believe that incumbent Dr Parameshwara will be given an extension as the party does not want to take risk when few months are left for the next Assembly elections.
AICC general secretary in-charge of state, K C Venugopal, also confirmed that the party high command will take an appropriate decision on appointment of KPCC president by the end of this month.
He also hinted that the party might allow Dr Parameshwara to continue by saying “The current team is working well,”

Before that chief minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to meet the party high command in New Delhi on May 29. The matter of KPCC chief will be discussed in the meeting.
It is claimed that Siddaramaiah had earlier recommended that Parameshwara, a Dalit, be replaced with a Lingayat leader. Senior party leader S R Patil and water resources minister M B Patil, both Lingayats, are in the fray for the top post if Lingayat is preferred.
Vokkaliga leader energy minister D K Shivakumar is also aspiring to become the KPCC president, it is gathered.
A section of Congress MLAs had recommended senior leader M Mallikarjun Kharge’s name for the top post.
It is just a matter of few days when one among these is made KPCC chief. Someone other than these five also can be made KPCC chief as this is politics.
