Mangaluru: TRF honours SSLC, PU toppers, distributes free books to 2,000 students

Mangaluru, May 24: The city-based Talent Research Foundation on Wednesday May 24 felicitated toppers in SSLC and PUC also distriubuted free books to 2,000 students in a ceremony held at Town Hall here.

D B Mehta, president CREDAI, Dr Prakash Shetty, director of Prakash Labs, Sheik Moideen, representative from Karnir Group, Praveen Alva, corporator, Mumtaz Ali, chairman, Misbah Women's College, Sharif, director of Fathima group, Jaleel Krishnapur, Naushad Haji Suralpady, Sulaiman Sheikh Belvai were present as guests. Abdul Rauf Puttige, chairman and founder of Talent Research Foundation presided over the programme.

Inaugurating the free book distribution ceremony, D B Mehta said, "It is a laudable gesture by Talent Research Foundation. They have been doing this for the last 12 years. They indentify children from poor families as beneficiaries, and apart from helping such families, they also encourage students to perform well. Nowadays without education we cannot do anything. Education has become a basic need of human being. I congratulate all students who are eligible for the benefits of Talent Research Foundation. I wish a bright future to all students gathered here."

Mumtaz Ali said, "Education is making humans perfect. We can see the thrust of education everywhere. Some students are not unable to complete their education because of poverty. But I suggest them to continue their studies. Institutions like Talent Research Foundation which are engaged in social work will help them. And it is our social responsibility too to help the poor. TRF is a role model for all. I wish them all success in their future endeavours."

SSLC state topper Poornananda Kabaka, PUC toppers Darshan, Aishatul Samina, Shamiha Saad, Dafny Monalisa, social worker Haji U Ibrahim Kasimullah, and Irshad Venur, bike race champion Adnan Ahmed, participants in international science exhibition A V Nachiketh Kumar and Aman A K, and state-level Taekwondo champion Vilayath Rafee were felicitated by the TRF with shawls, momentos, certificates and cash prize.

Riyaz Ahmad Kannur, president TRF welcomed the dignitaries and gathering.

Earlier in the day, career guidance and scholarship awareness programme was held by the TRF for students at same venue.
