Thiruvananthapuram, May 22: As per recent reports, Kerala police have sought the permission of the magistrate to shift the ‘rapist godman’ to a secret cell so that he could be quizzed relating to the rape charges.
Swami Ganeshananda alias Sreehari, whose sexual organ was chopped off by a 23 year old woman, has recovered after successful surgery, it is gathered. Police feel that he can be interrogated now.
Meanwhile the victim has been shifted to a secret location. Police are not sure as to whether the woman can be charged or not, for chopping off the sexual organ.
The woman had alleged that the Swami had been harassing her for the past six years since she was a minor. On Friday night he demanded sex from her when the woman did to the Swami which was unexpected. Relatives of the woman rushed Swami to the hospital.
As the godman was undergoing surgery, the police made his arrest only on Saturday. Though the police say the Swami is yet to be questioned, earlier reports say, Swami told the police that he himself chopped off his genital organ as it was of ‘no use.’
The victim has given her statement in first class magistrate court. Her mother has said she was not aware that her daughter was subjected to sexual abuse. But sources at the police say, her role in the case will also be probed.
Meanwhile the management of Panmana Ashram, where the Swami Ganeshananda is believed to belong, has said that he came there as ‘Brahmachari’ 15 years ago, but left midway without completing the course.
