Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, May 21: Two persons died in a collision between Eicher trucks at Golithottu on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway here on Sunday May 21.

The deceased have been identified as Manjunath (27), son of Shikaripura resident Kallappa, and Nagesh (22), son of Nelamangala resident Thoppaiah. They were drivers of each of the trucks involved in the accident.

The accident took place when the truck plying from Bengaluru rammed head-on into the other truck near Golithottu bridge. The impact was such that drivers of both the vehicles got trapped inside.

A JCB was then brought to the spot to disentangle the mangled trucks. While Manjunath was found to have died on the spot, Nagesh was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he breathed his last.

Uppinangady police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

    Both the drivers died.

One driver was aged 27. The other aged 22.

I am sure their vehicles developed some thinking of their own to go out of control!

In this case, there were no passengers and no people closeby. Otheriwse there would have been more deaths.

    My suggestion to people:
Do not ever get into a vehicle that is driven by someone 30 years and less.
Unless you are serious to say goodbye to this world.

It is not about the age. It is about what's going on in your mind, your skills or how you drive.
Even good drivers meet with accidents when they have 101 things bothering them in their mind.
Yes, some accidents Indeed can be avoided if you are totally aware of what you are doing.

Big loss - for the trucks. Otherwise used for useful transport.

Only matured (by action) drivers should be employed. Otherwise innocent lives will be lost.
