Mysuru, May 21: It was not clearly known till Saturday as to where the chief minister Siddaramaiah will contest the next Assembly elections from. Varuna and Chamundeshwari constituencies were thought to be his favourites. Some said he would choose Varuna and a few said he would go for Chamundeshwari.
But on Saturday, May 21 Siddaramaiah made it clear that he would contest from the Chamundeshwari constituency in the upcoming Assembly elections of 2018.
Presently he represents Varuna constituency.
Speaking to media, Siddaramaiah said that he would contest from Chamundeshwari constituency and the candidate for Varuna will be decided at appropriate time.
When reporters asked if his son Dr Yathindra would be fielded from Varuna, the chief minister said, it could be decided a little later.
He also added that he might contest from both the constituencies.
Earlier, A few supporters of Siddaramaiah, who met him during the mass contact programme here, asked him to contest from Chamundeshwari constituency.
The chief minister agreed openly and told them to make preparations for the elections.
