Kasargod, May 11: Sources said that relating to the murder of Ramakrishna Moolya (46), owner of G K General Store at Kayyar Mandekapu in the district, four have been taken into custody.
A car used by the killers was found abandoned at Deralakatte. Police personnel said that as per their information, the accused left their car at Deralakatte and went to Thokkottu in another vehicle and then visited Mangaluru by another car.
The police also have information that the accused then went to Bengaluru in the evening. From Bengaluru, they went to Hyderabad and returned to their native places once the money they had with them was exhausted.
It is said that main accused, Ummer Farooq from Muliyar, is among the arrested persons. Ummer had been arrested for stealing money from a donation box near Ramakrishna's shop on Mar 8 night. He had been released a few days back. It is said that Ummer developed animosity against Ramakrishna as the latter was an eyewitness to his crime.
Two men who had entered the house of Ramrkrishna on May 4 afternoon in the guise of customers had murdered him with swords before fleeing in a car.
