Doha, Mar 28: For long timers living in Doha, Easter held a more profound sentiment this year.  For the first time the solemn Easter mass and the Holy Week services were celebrated in the newly-consecrated Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

To celebrate the joy of the Easter season, Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar, organized their annual Easter get together at Teebah Gardens Clubhouse on Thursday, March 27.  Riana Pinto, joint secretary, started with a prayer. All the community members who had departed to the heavenly abode were also remembered.

President Norbert Corda, in his words of welcome, recognized the efforts of the founder members in establishing a community club in a foreign land.  Compere Ronald Rodrigues, with his spontaneous humour, regaled the audience and kept them entertained. Alwyn D'Souza, cultural secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Foot-tapping music provided by DJ Glylon Rodrigues beckoned the members to the dance floor and every one seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Jacob Fernandes was the lucky winner in the raffle draw which was sponsored by Al Mana & Partners. Joyce Alvares and Amitha D'Souza conducted games for both children and adults, in keeping with the theme of Easter.
