Mangaluru, Apr 25: SAB UPL T10 cricket tournament-season 2, touted as Asia’s biggest and only hard tennis ball tournament, drew to a grand close on Sunday April 23 at NMPT grounds here, with Eastern Blues, KSA clinching the trophy.
As many as 20 teams participated in the tournament and took with them memories of the coastal city 'Namma Mangaluru'.
"Cricket is not just a game, but it’s something more. This game binds people across borders. I believe it is a confluence of many cultures and UPL has delivered its best," said Sallahuddin Salman, the icon behind UPL T10 and chairman of SAB and its associate companies.
"Cricket in this part of the region is popular and we must thank Udupi Cricket Club for having given us an opportunity to witness world class cricket. It is always a joy to watch and despite the big premier leagues, visitors came in large numbers to see the game. This shows the popularity of T10 cricket.
"It is a dream come true for all of us. Each member of the team has worked hard and made this happen. Every member must be remembered on this occasion and next year we are sure to make this event even bigger and better. My aim is to popularize the game and give platform to budding talents and UCC has been doing this,” said Sadhiq Kaup, president of UPL T10 season 2.

Eastern Blues KSA won the second edition of UPL T10 tournament. They were also awarded cash prize of Rs 25 lac. Yas Bisiya Lions, Oman were the runners up with cash prize of Rs 12 lac. Pacific Ventures Dubai were the first finalist and won a cash prize of Rs 3 lac. Eleven Warriors Dubai were the second finalist. They were rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 3 lac.
The most valuable player award went to Fawaz of Eastern Blues, KSA. He was awraded a Hyundai EON car. He scored 164 runs in 88 balls.
The best bowler award was bagged by Saurabh of Eastern Blues, KSA. He was presented a Bajaj bike. He took 15 wickets in the tournament.
Bhushan Patil (Yash Bisiya Lions, Oman) was declared as the best batsman and also won a Bajaj bike. He scored 111 runs.
